What are the Visitor Guidelines for Shri Swaminarayan Temple?

There are some guidelines

Dress Code
  • A strict dress code operates within the complex.
  • Specifically, tops must cover the shoulders, chest, navel, and upper arms.
  • Leg wear must be at least below knee length.
Shoes
  • It is customary to remove footwear upon entering any part of the Haveli complex.
  • Shoe racks are provided within the complex.
Security
  • Sharp, dangerous and incendiary objects and substances (e.g. knives, matches, lighters, etc.) are not allowed inside the complex.
Bags & Cameras
  • Small (palm-sized) purses and wallets are allowed into the building.
  • Cameras are not.
  • Please deposit all large bags and cameras in the Baggage Cabin in the car park prior to entering the complex.
Filming & Photography
  • Videos and photos using a mobile phone for personal use only may be taken from ground level outside the Mandir and Haveli, but no photography or filming is allowed inside.
Mobile Phones
  • Please switch off or place mobile phones on silent mode prior to entering the premises.
  • Mobile phones must not be used to take photos or video footage inside the complex.
Smoking
  • Smoking is not allowed on the premises, including in the car parks.
  • Please dispose the cigarettes in the bin provided while entering the gates.
Food & Drink
  • No food or drink is allowed on the premises
  • Please discard chewing gum prior to entering.
Children
  • Visitors aged 16 or under must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times.
Parking
  • Free parking is available for cars.
  • Coach passengers are requested to alight outside the Mandir.
  • Parking for coaches is very limited.
Disabled Access
  • Ramps for wheelchair access and a lift inside the Mandir are available.
  • Wheelchairs will be provided subject to the  availability.

Pets
  • No pets are allowed within the complex.
  • Disabled visitor’s assistance dogs will be looked after in a quiet place by a volunteer, while visitors will be provided a personal chaperon/guide to enjoy their visit to the Mandir.

  • Disabled visitors are welcome at BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir, where they strive to provide a pleasant and enriching experience for everyone.
  • Bays for disabled drivers are located in the car park at the gate closest to and directly opposite the Mandir entrance.
  • Extra wheelchairs will be provided, subject to availability.
  • The toilets are on the left and right sides. As one enters, the Haveli also have facilities for the disabled.
  • The Haveli Assembly Hall equipped with an induction loop for the hard of hearing.

Group visit

Who’re allowed for Group visits?

U3A groups, community groups, boy scouts and girl guides, youth groups, senior citizens, interfaith groups, art and architecture aficionados, international tour operators.

There are three morning and two afternoon time-slots available for group visits throughout the week.

  • Morning: 10.30am, 11.00am and 11.30am
  • Afternoon: 2.30pm and 3.00pm.

Who’re allowed for School visits?

Students from junior, primary and secondary schools, to sixth form colleges and sometimes even universities. RE teachers and trainee teachers are also welcome, as are student groups from around the world.

If you need to cancel your booking, please go to the ‘Manage Booking Changes’ link select “Cancel”. Otherwise go through email (or) phone as soon as possible so that your slot may be made available for another group.

The restaurant had delicious fine Indian sweets and snacks with a wide range of of Indian groceries and produce. Shop timings are,
