Procedure to apply for Mauritania Embassy Visa from London, UK
- All sorts of visas for all nationalities can now be obtained upon arrival at Nouakchott-Oumtounsy International Airport.
- Our London Embassy does not grant visas. If you need a visa before visiting Mauritania, please contact our embassies in Paris or Madrid.
- To enter Mauritania, you must get a visa. Visas are issued at the airport.
- The border visa application process can take many hours.

Documents Required
- Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the date of entrance into Mauritania.
- Check the National Travel Health Network and Centre’s website to see if you require a yellow fever certificate.
- ETDs from the United Kingdom are approved for entrance, airside transit, and exit from Mauritania. For admission into Mauritania via an ETD, a valid entry visa would still be necessary.
- You must show proof of at least two doses of a COVID-19 vaccination, with the latest dosage obtained at least two weeks before arrival, with the exception of the Johnson & Johnson immunization, which requires proof of one dose received at least four weeks before arrival.

- The current cost is €55 (euros) or $60 (US dollars) in cash only.
Types of Mauritania visa
1. Tourist Visa
- Evidence of Transportation (round-trip ticket), a bank letter of financial soundness, proof of work, and an invitation letter are all required.
2. Diplomatic and Courtesy Visa
- This visa is given in gratis status and requires a letter of recommendation from the mission, government agencies, or NGO operating in Mauritania-Parlementaries-Officials.
